It is a very smooth, subtle, non-acidic, warming alternative beverage to the harsh reality of super strong, acidic, espresso I normally indulge in. I like it. I am a fan of the darker coffee…When I opened the bag it just filled the room with that heavy dark scent. Very pleasing only to be topped when I actually was brewing it… man does it smell great in here! For a while in Chicago I lived above a Caribou Coffee Shop in a small apartment and my whole place would smell like that in the morning I love that smell and the Ruff Morning roast really did that in spades! … it’s everything I would expect from a really nice dark roast with an added benefit …the dark roasts can be a little bitter to the tongue in the after taste and this coffee seems to just about get you to that point and stops just shy of that displeasing bitterness so...I would say it’s perfect
